Fund Allocation of West Bengal Disaster Management & Civil Defence Department

According to the recommendation of the Thirteen Finance Commission, money from the State Disaster Response Fund is spent for providing relief to the Calamity hit people. Both the Central and State Governments contribute to this fund in a ratio of 75:25. In any emergency situation, the fund is subsequently sub-allotted among the districts and Director of Disaster Management for undertaking search & rescue and relief work. Other Departments concerned with this kind of work and reconstruction are allotted funds in accordance with the recommendations of the State Executive Committee.
